Production of more than 100 videos for the permanent interactivity exhibition “Timeline of the Portuguese Language”, at the Portuguese Language Museum.
The production involved recordings in Brazil in 5 different states and Portugal. In addition, approx. 20 animations in computer graphics and licensing (legal clearance) of collection works for audiovisual productions, including audio, video, personality and performance collections.
The recordings involved artists such as Gilberto Gil, Maria Bethânia, Tom Zé, Arnaldo Antunes, Denise Fraga, Caco Ciocler, José Miguel Wisnick, Carminho, Valter Hugo Mãe and Matheus Nachtergaele.
The exhibition “Timeline of the Portuguese Language”, by the Museum of the Portuguese Language, has the following main objectives:
- Tracing the historical evolution of the Portuguese language: Through a timeline, the exhibition presents the main historical moments that influenced the formation and evolution of the Portuguese language, from its origins to the present day. In this way, the public can understand how the language has been changing over the centuries and what were the main factors that contributed to these changes.
- Highlighting the linguistic diversity of Portuguese: The exhibition also aims to highlight the different ways of speaking and writing the Portuguese language, present in different countries and regions of the world. Through maps, videos and other audiovisual resources, visitors can learn about the linguistic varieties of Portuguese and understand how they have developed over time.
- Show the importance of the Portuguese language in the culture and history of Brazil: The exhibition also seeks to highlight the relevance of the Portuguese language in the cultural and historical formation of Brazil. During the visit, visitors can learn more about the history of Portuguese colonization in Brazil and how the Portuguese language became the official language of the country.
- Stimulate reflection on the importance of preserving the Portuguese language: Finally, the exhibition aims to encourage the public to reflect on the importance of preserving the Portuguese language, as cultural heritage and as an instrument of communication and expression. Through interactive and dynamic resources, visitors are invited to reflect on the importance of valuing and caring for the Portuguese language, so that it continues to develop and evolve over the coming centuries.
