Urban mobility application developed in a crowdfunding campaign at Benfeitoria and sponsored by ITDP.

Itinere is a mobile application for mapping cyclist routes. Its objective is to show managers the places where there are more bicycles and, thus, provide infrastructure for their circulation.

Itinere is a collaborative tool for mapping the routes most used by urban cyclists and signaling danger points or facilities along the way.

You can share your path, report on a road that is closed to traffic, or one with a high rate of accidents/robberies, an interesting bike shop, or simply a gas station to calibrate your tyre, or consult the most used routes.

The objective is to build a large cycle map that can also serve as a database for the construction of infrastructure, both by the public and private sectors.

How does it work with urban mobility?

When you go out on your bike, you trigger the app, which will track your route. You tell your friends and they do the same. Over time, we will have a lot of route crossing points. Locations with the highest circulation of cyclists will be highlighted in the application and on the website.

You will also be able to mark points of interest, such as a problem on the road, areas at risk of robbery or indicate a workshop and establishments that offer discounts for those arriving by bike. You will also be able to see the routes of your facebook friends.

How to help in the application?

We count on your engagement for the application to happen. We have really cool rewards: plaques to hang on your bike and beautiful bags from Anouk Bags, which adapt to the bike. At the end of the capture, we will gather the employees on a bike ride in Rio de Janeiro.

Who is involved?

The application is part of the Bike Lovers project, which also has a TV series and a documentary, both in production. The project is conducted by mobCONTENT, a company from Rio de Janeiro focused on transmedia narratives, headquartered at the Rio Criativo incubator of the Government of the State of RJ.

Itinere will incorporate the collaborative bicycle map database of Rio de Janeiro, ciclorio, developed by Transporte Ativo (ciclorio.ta.org.br).

The project is managed by mobCONTENT, specialized in transmedia narratives.
